The NFT market remained sluggish in August, with both sales and number of buyers and sellers declini
The trading activity in the NFT (non fungible token) market continues to decline. According to CryptoSlam data, NFT sales in August were approximately $374.3 million, a decrease of 12.5% compared to July.
In terms of transaction volume, the number of NFT buyers in August decreased by about 15% to 837195, while the number of sellers decreased by 2.5% to 376762. The number of transactions for the month was about 7.38 million, a decrease of about 31% compared to the previous month.
The top five memory blockchain chains ranked by NFT sales in August are Ethereum (approximately $127 million), Solana (approximately $78.77 million), Bitcoin (approximately $60.51 million), Polygon (approximately $34.72 million), and Mythos (approximately $20.28 million), with four experiencing monthly declines, except for Mythos Chain, which grew nearly 19% from July.
The best-selling NFT series in August was Dmarket on the Mythos chain, with sales reaching $20.28 million that month, an increase of approximately 20% compared to July. CryptoPunks on the Ethereum chain followed closely with sales of $18.95 million, an increase of 145% from last month. The top three to five NFT series in terms of sales are Guild of Guardians on Immutable Chain, Sorare on Ethereum Chain, and DogeZuki on Solana Chain, while Bored Ape Yacht Club ranks sixth with a monthly sales of $11.7 million.
The collectible with the highest single transaction volume in the past 30 days is the Uncategorized Ordinal, which saw a transaction of up to $2.4 million (40.4801 BTC) on August 17th. Following closely behind are Bored Ape Yacht Club # 2579 and # 7398, which were sold at different time points for $342542 (130 ETH) and $325387 (130 ETH), respectively. The floor price of Bored Ape NFT before the deadline is 12.553 ETH (worth approximately $31600).
